January 1, 2026

It seems like everyone has a "wrapped" year-end summary these days. We've shared our annual accomplishments for years, and here is our look back as we "wrap" up 2025! We admit it's not as flashy as most of the apps (but we also promise not to use your music choices to guess you're 82 years old).
In 2025, we proudly:
-
Maintained Service Continuity: We stood by your family, ensuring uninterrupted services through the January 2025 TRICARE claims processing changes and the fall government shutdown, both of which disrupted many other healthcare services.
-
Celebrated Graduations and Welcomed New Families: We said "Goodbye" to 17 children who either graduated from our program or relocated, and we "Welcomed" 22 new children.
-
Cheered on Our Team: Congratulations to La Deesha Hill, Emily Eichel, and Ohud Aljaloud for passing the BCBA exam!
-
Grew Our Staff: We welcomed Oliver Ignazzitto, Joseph Delgado, Randa Desouky, Sarah Murray, Alex Bibb, Teresa Miller, Freddie Johnson, Stevie Gordon, and Megan Newman to the team.
-
Wished Staff Well: We sent our best wishes to Yasmin Badr and Nate Owusu (and were thrilled when Yasmin, who moved to Jordan, visited briefly this fall!).
-
Focused on What Matters Most: Every single staff member has witnessed and shared stories of your child's victories—the small, the big, and the silly ones. These private moments, which we can't share here for confidentiality, are truly what make our jobs so rewarding. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s care and giving us the opportunity to share these moments with you and them.
TRICARE Focus on Parent Involvement
You already know that your involvement in your child’s therapy is one of the most important factors in whether progress is maintained over time. Skills are far more likely to last and generalize when parents are actively involved—whether that means helping strengthen and extend skills practiced during sessions or using ABA strategies to support challenges at home.
This is also why TRICARE requires meaningful parent participation. Specifically, TRICARE mandates at least six parent training sessions and at least one active “parent goal” during each six-month authorization period. Recently, TRICARE has placed increased emphasis on documenting parent involvement. As a result, we have seen more continuation requests placed in a “pended” status when there is limited evidence of participation, requiring additional justification for ongoing services.
Our shared goal is to avoid any interruption in your child’s therapy. Delays in authorization can result in a temporary pause in services if approval is not granted before the current authorization expires, or longer delays if extensive documentation is required. It is also important to know that TRICARE technically may deny continued services if parent involvement does not meet their requirements for two consecutive authorization periods.
What you can do to help prevent delays or interruptions:
-
Meet with your clinician on a regular basis; we recommend at least monthly parent sessions.
-
Keep scheduled appointments whenever possible, and if you need to cancel, reschedule as soon as you can.
-
Collaborate with your clinician to develop parent goals that feel realistic and that you can actively and consistently participate in.
We view parent involvement as a partnership, and we are here to support you in meeting these requirements while also helping your child make meaningful, lasting progress.

Designing Spaces That Grow With Our Learners
In 2025 we also started a facility refresh. It’s a work in progress right now, but so far we have gotten some new storage, installed a new puzzle tile floor in the lower level, painted some spaces, replaced some tables, and added some moveable dividers. There is more to come in 2026, as we finish painting, flooring, new storage, and work surfaces/spaces in the therapy areas. We can’t wait to share pictures (projected for the April 1 newsletter!).
